Where are Cheshire and Shropshire’s Meres and Mosses?

The area covered by Cheshire and Shropshire is one of the most dense concentrations of meres and mosses in the world – this is what makes our ‘Meres and Mosses Country’ very special.

The map below shows some of the meres and mosses in Cheshire and Shropshire. Some are open for the general public to visit, others are on privately owned land. Additional meres and mosses can be found on Ordnance Survey maps.
